The person called "a philosophy professor" is neither a philosopher, a thinker, or a teacher. He is, unfortunately, just a sack-licker, selected for his fealty to the professional orthodoxy. How delicately does he kiss the ring? Institutions of all sorts produce this particular character. The institution fools him into thinking it can give him what he wants. The truth is that no one can GIVE it to him.
