election day

that government-types go on and on about the importance of voting, but won't put the election on a weekend or make it a national holiday, is so typical. the rhetoric is has no connection to behavior. that's why it's called rhetoric. it's bald faced lie after bald faced lie. with flags and a compelling score. the byzantine registration process that kept me out of the polls this year is also to blame. there's a substantial logistical hurdle between you and the vote. registration. finding your polling place. driving there. waiting in line. all these cards and forms to keep track of. The system is antithetical to organic human process. People can't gather in groups, get excited, and move to make the decision. They're dispersed and scheduled.
